Tiempo: Preventing insurance scams that target the Latino community

NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- On this episode of "Tiempo," we are featuring Wonder Girls USA, an after-school program that provides young Latinas with a blueprint to shatter glass ceilings and own their future.
The nonprofit helps young women develop confidence, leadership skills, and the business skills needed to succeed in their education or careers.
We are also discussing how to prevent insurance fraud in the Latino community.
Fraudsters target Spanish-speaking communities by exploiting language barriers, system complexities and financial stress. Scammers use tactics such as fake auto insurance, ghost brokers and aggressive debt relief scams.
The New York Alliance Against Insurance Fraud wants to educate the public on how to spot scams.
